One of the most amazing animals in the Pantanal is the Giant Anteater. Here, at Caiman Ecological Refuge, in the southern Pantanal, we encounter them on a near daily basis. They are strikingly unusual and just shout out to be photographed. I often head out into the grasslands in search of anteaters. Every so often the conditions are perfect allowing for one to get off the car and walk close to the animal. This allows an unprecedented view of the animal going about its daily job of feeding and walking. The other day I had friends come and stay with me for a few days.
